Abstract:

Purpose: The future of the construction industry is increasingly influenced by new technologies. In order to adopt appropriate strategies in facing new technologies, it is necessary to know the possible futures of the construction industry. This research was done with the aim of explaining the technological uncertainties and compiling the future scenarios of the construction industry.  Method: The research method is applied and was carried out with a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. First, the library study was used to determine the technological drivers, then the Structural Analysis was used to explain the technological uncertainties, and finally, the Schwartz method was used to compile the scenarios. The statistical population is experts of construction industry. Findings: Nine technological uncertainties affecting the future of the construction industry have been identified and for each of them, three states of decline, stagnation and progress have been considered. Data analysis by Scenario Wizard shows eight probable scenarios. The portfolio of scenarios including four groups of progress scenarios, towards progress, towards stagnation, and towards wane has been compiled. Conclusion: In the progress scenario, the 89% of uncertainties have developed. In  towards progress, 56% of the factors are in the development status, which indicates the development of the technological factor application. In the stagnation scenario, no progress has been made in the application of uncertainties and they are in a static state. In towards wane, uncertainties have been placed in a situation of reduced use.

Abstract:

Our analysis of Popper’s philosophy of science focuses on his concepts of tradition and situational analysis. These concepts represent innovative Popperian contributions to a historical and hermeneutical turn in philosophy of science that most of his critics, especially Kuhn, fail to recognize. According to his historical view, Popper conceives sciences as a complex of traditions in continuous transformation and progress by means of rational discussion of theories. In order to grasp the rational progress of scientific traditions, Popper proposes an original method that he calls “situational analysis”. This hermeneutical method seeks to understand the concepts, hypotheses, actions, practices, controversies and products that scientists made to solve problems in their specific historical contexts to improve the truth content of theories. In addition to his historical and hermeneutical turn, Popper also inquired about the social and political conditions for the progress of scientific traditions by means of intersubjective criticism of theories and conjectures. According to him, the rational discussion of ideas requires, as necessary conditions, plurality of ideas, intellectual humility, and freedom of thought and communication that can only exist in an open and democratic society. With these considerations, we may say that in addition to a historical and hermeneutical turn, Popper also contributed to a social and political turn in the philosophy of science

Abstract:

The ethical actions are important because of the priority of the mission goal and their close relationship with social progress and development. Therefore, the purpose of this research is the identification and social analysis of these types of actions among the verses of revelation and it deals with the effect of ethical actions in the production of social capital in the process of progress based on religious teachings and answers these questions based on the Quranic teachings. What impact do ethical actions (behavior) have on the formation of social progress? How do moral actions generate social capital and influence progress (development)? What coordinates, examples and dimensions does this group of actions have? What are the effects and consequences of this group of actions? Those actions that are desirable and progressive in the development of social interactions have been socially studied, analyzed and searched by using the inductive content analysis method. Honesty, trustworthiness and fulfillment of an obligation, altruism (Arabic: إیثار, self-sacrifice), asking forgiveness or istighfār (Arabic: استغفار ʾistiġfār), and forgiving others, kindness, non-violence, chastity and purity, patience and honesty and benevolent actions combined with social supervision have been discussed, which lead to sincerity, togetherness, coherence and expansion of social interactions and emotional relationships far from hatred and warm and emotional relationships and as a result, it causes the production of social capital and its improvement and will lead to the density of actions focused on purpose and excellence that are necessary for progress.

Abstract:

In the statistical analysis of observational data, propensity score is a technique that attempts to estimate the effect of a treatment (exposure) by accounting for the covariates that predict receiving the treatment (exposure). The aim of this paper is to provide a brief guide for clinicians and researchers who are applying propensity score analysis as a tool for analyzing observational data. We reviewed literature about how, when and why propensity score is used and then we discussed some important practical issues in using propensity score in observational studies. Appling propensity score as a method for analyzing observational studies is very useful but, we should know when and how we can use this method. Moreover, new methods of propensity score analysis such as Bayesian and doubly robust approaches were established in recent years, and these methods could be more useful for researchers in estimating causal effect from observational studies.

Abstract:

This paper aims to probe international tourists' intention to revisit Iran using survey research method. Asian and European tourists constitute the research's statistical population. The data needed were collected from 200 respondents chosen on the basis of convenience sampling method. The data analysis revealed no difference between tourists’ economic-social attributes and their propensity to revisit Iran among the both groups of the respondents. However, the data indicated that the quality of services and facilities particularly transportation and accommodation have an important impact on stimulating the respondents to revisit Iran.Contrary to prevailing belief, the data did not find any significant relationship between some Islamic codes, i.e.hijab etc., and the tendency to revisit Iran. Nevertheless, such variables as the respondents' pre-knowledge and Iranians’ hospitality significantly affect the respondents' intention to visit Iran in the future. The research concluded that improving the quality of services and conducting proper propaganda, via using globally used popular media, to enhance tourists' image of the country simultaneously should be at the top of any attempt to develop the country's tourism industry.

Abstract:

This study is designed to develop and valid measures of propensity of consumer to observe the others' behavior for purchasing decision of his/her product. The main question of this research is "what factors affect the propensity of consumers to observe and what are the interactions between them?" For this purpose we have chosen the customers of Nokia mobiles in city of Shiraz as our statistical population. A sample included 384 people has been random selected and studied. Main variables of this research are propensity to minimize risk, need for cognition, perceived brand choice overload, consumer self-confidence, propensity to conform on the other hand, the present research is a research for describing correlation with a functional identity including 5 hypotheses that have been significantly confirmed and accepted after analytical tests.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of social factors on Maragheh citizen's participation in civil affairs. The populations of the study are 383 people of above 18 years old in Maragheh and were selected by multistage cluster sampling. The research method is survey and questionnaire and interview are the instruments. The data were analyzed using R Pearson, R spear-man, T test and AN OVA. The results show that there is a meaningful relationship between dependent variables (of civic consciousness, social coherence, social security, propensity to progress, age, gender, income and occupation) and social participation. Also, the propensity to progress is the most effective factor in social participation. It means that more propensities to progress causes to more participation of the citizens.
